My Top 10 Queens from 'RuPaul's Drag Race'

The new season of 'RuPaul's Drag Race' is well underway and I am really enjoying it so far. This season seems to of gone back to what made it brilliant, season 7 definitely took a small detour and it seemed to be a lot more about fashion and looking like a woman - this season is about entertainment, we have the fashion and beauty but every Queen seems to bring something new.

In honour of 100 Queens stomping down the runway I will introduce you to my top 10 Drag Queens, I haven't included any of the new Queens because it seems a bit too early. I do however have a strong feeling Bob The Drag Queen and Thorgy Thor are going to be something special. Lets get this list on the way.

10. Manila Luzon

She is such a beautiful Queen and she always brought it to the runway, She designed and made all of her looks. Since the show I have fell in love with her even more from seeing her on social media. She is a sweetheart, a true professional and beautiful in and out of drag.

9. Sharon Needles

I didn't know a lot about the drag community when I first watched the show, I thought drag was simply dressing to resemble a girl. Then season 4 came around and in walked Sharon Needles. She was the horror, gore, monster beauty. As I am obsessed with horror you could only imagine my excitement. She really opened my eyes to what drag can be.

8. Shangela

I never quite understood why some of the girls didn't like her on the show, yes maybe she was a little less experienced and needed a hand every so often - all they had to say was no, they didn't need to assassinate her behind her back. For me an unpolished look is forgivable when there is talent - I mean you can buy a better wig, you can pay for a makeup artist, but talent is from within. Ever since the show I have been keeping up with her and I am always impressed and entertained with everything she does.

7. Raja

Drag is dressing to resemble a girl, Raja took that and lifted it to a whole other level. Incorporating her fashion knowledge she became a force on the runway. I was always excited to see how she interpreted a brief. My favourite looks would be her Marie Antoinette, Native American and Tribal. This girl can dress and stomp a catwalk like she was born to do it.

6. Jujubee

She was robbed not once, but twice for the crown. She is one of the most naturally funny queens to walk into the work room. What I love about her is that she didn't have a gimmick, you will find a comedy queen will have a gimmick that they think will make them funnier. She brought the glamour and the laughs, she wasn't afraid to make a fool of herself. It takes a lot sometimes to physically laugh out loud (at best you will get a chuckle) but she did it multiple times.

5.  Bianca Del Rio

Okay, I know I just made a big thing about Jujubee been a funny Queen, and Bianca is aswell - but she brings a new type of comedy, one I didn't know I needed. Bianca is a hateful comedy Queen. She can destroy you in a second flat, think Joan Rivers with a tan and more glitter than can be found on the floor of a Kesha gig. I both fear and love Bianca, she always brings it and it baffles me how she can spit out her venom so fast. I can't even say my name quickly without stuttering.

4. Willam

Just like a lot of Queens on my list, she introduced a new type of Queen in to my life. She is a self titled 'professional Queen who doesn't have to show for a dollar'. She has quite the resume before she even stepped in to the work room, she is a professional actress and singer. She didn't come to play. I have fallen more in love with Willam since after the show. I tune into her show on YouTube every week, her music parodies ae insanely brilliant and her shows are something to be seen to be believed (fisting).

3. Alaska Thunderfuck

I love this woman, she makes me laugh, she leaves me in awe and she is a true artist. On the show she was what you could say unpolished (her first runway look was herself wrapped in blue cellophane), but she grew into her signature look, her big hair, her crazy outfits and her talent shone even brighter. She is definitely one of the girls on the top of my list to see live.

2. Katya

After giving my heart to too many Queens in the 6 previous seasons I didn't think anyone else could compete, then Katya Zamolodchikova walked in. I love this woman. She is everything I look for in a Queen. Is she funny? Yes. Can she lip sync? Yes. Do she have great fashion? Yes. She is perfection. And now she has multiple shows on YouTube and I look forward to them everyday. If I could be cool enough to be friends with one Queen I think I have my best shot with her.

Notable Mentions
These Queens may not have made my top 10, but during the show and beyond they have kept my attention and I admire them all.

Raven

Trixie Mattel

Miss Fame

Phi Phi O'Hara

Alyssa Edwards

NUMBER ONE

ADORE DELANO

I find it hard to put into words why I loved Adore so much, she wasn't the most polished Queen to walk into the work room, but she made up for it 10 times over with what else she offered. She was endearing, she was loveable, she was both your friend from down the street and the kid you were scared of from around the block. She is the girl you can't have a problem with, she is innocent yet she has the mouth of a sailor and isn't afraid to stand up for herself.
She inspired me because she was a real human, she had these flaws and she was aware of them on the show, it got her down but she powered through -  and she won challenges, including a sewing competition against a previous Broadway seamstress. She is the epitome of someone who dreamed of something and went for it. Since the show she has had major success with her music career, which includes entering the British charts. She isn't releasing gimmicky songs, she is a bonafide popstar.

My Top 10 Lip Syncs - RuPaul's Drag Race

There is not a fan of this show that doesn't love a good ol' lip sync. It is the highlight of many an episode. Basically, if you have lived under a rock for the last few years, RuPaul's Drag Race is a competition show to find America's next Drag Superstar. Ru will choose the bottom two performers of the week and make them 'lip sync for their lives'. These moments are legendary, there are splits, death drops, spins, wigs going everywhere, costumes been ripped off and word for word perfect syncing. So, as I do I have created the definitive top 10 list of Drag Race lip syncs.

10. Alyssa Edwards Vs. Roxxxy Andrews

She takes her wig off ... to reveal another damn wig!

9. Ginger Minj Vs. Jayden Dior Fierce

The first live on stage mastectomy in Drag Race history.

8. Josylin Fox Vs. Adore Delano

Love a gospel lip sync. Taken to church officially.

7. Raven Vs. Nicole Paige Brooks

She dabbed her face with her foam breast. With her foam breast.

6. Trinity K. Bonet Vs. Adore Delano

Two Queens. One great song. Feathers and pleather.

5. Katya Vs. Kennedy Davenport

Katya (My Queen). Those jumping splits give me flexibility goals.

4. Raven Vs. Jujubee

More emotion than an Academy Award speech.

3. Trinity K. Bonet Vs. April Carrion

Yes, these are men. Perfection.

2. Manila Luzon Vs. Delta Work

Not exactly Broadway, but Main Stage perfection.

1. Dida Ritz Vs. The Princess

Dida killed it. I always come back to this video. She is perfection. So simple, yet so complicated.

The Gay Agenda

We are here to destroy the sanctity of marriage. We want to turn babies gay. We want to bring down religions. We want to spit in God's face. We want there to be gay clubs on every street corner. We want to walk down the street in assless chaps. We want the Union Jack to be rainbow coloured. We want to make everyone uncomfortable. We want to tell everyone what happens in the bedroom, hell we don't want to keep it in the bedroom anymore. We want to adopt all the babies and raise them gay. We want everyone to be gay. GAY IS THE WAY!

Nope. Fuck that.

I can't believe that it is 2015 and we still have to fight for gay rights. Rights, not privileges. I have wrote a post before about gay rights about a year ago and I honestly thought the world was on the turn (not because of my post), there were great strides in support for the gay community. And yet here I am still raging about it.

Just today on Buzzfeed it showed a group in a high school in Pennsylvania staging an 'Anti-gay day', they all decided to wear flannel shirts and the cross with the words 'anti gay' written on their hands. What I find funny about this is that they didn't do their research very well, a flannel shirt is pretty much the uniform for 'bears' in the gay community. Idiots. And do you know why they created this day? They did it because 2 days prior a group of LGBT students and supporters staged a 'day of silence' event aimed at drawing attention to anti-gay bullying. Irony completely lost on the idiots in flannel.

I am actually disappointed in myself because I let myself down, when someone assumes I am gay (which I am) I get offended. I ask myself, how do they know? Is my voice gay? Is my body language gay? Am I dressed gay? I get offended because of all the negative connotations of being gay that have been drummed into me from society and the media. It is never ever a compliment to say 'oh, that's so gay!' 'Faggot' isn't an affectionate word. 'Queer' literally means strange. I want to be proud of who I am, I don't ever deny that I am gay - but I see so many punches been thrown, forcing me to keep quiet.

I just watched a documentary about Russia (presented by the great Reggie Yates on BBC3), I have never been so thankful for not being russian. Looks like hell over there. People will literally live their life trying to stop the 'gay propaganda'. They believe that gay people either want to have sex with the children of Russia or at the very least turn them gay. They can't have pride marches or festivals celebrating their lives because they will get arrested, thrown in jail or even killed. This isn't 50-60 years ago - this is today! Can you believe that? How backward is this? I have said this before but it seems to bare repeating - Gay isn't a choice! I wouldn't choose to be gay in a million years, it is just who I am.

Gay people aren't asking for much, literally nothing more than acceptance. We aren't asking for special treatment, we are just asking for the same. Give us the same respect you would your fellow straight man/woman. Give us the same basic rights. Let us live our lives without fear. We didn't ask for this, it is ingrained in us. We aren't trying to turn anyone else gay, god knows I don't need the competition! Allow us to adopt so we can start our own families, better to have two same sex parents than none at all right? Allow us to marry in peace, we love to love so why can't we celebrate that and commit ourselves to one other person? I have a lot of questions but I think they all have easy answers. I promise nothing will change if you accept us. We won't ruin the sanctity of marriage - hell we may even last longer than Britney's 55 hour marriage or Kim's 72 day marriage. We have been suffocated for too long - let us breathe.

RuPaul's Drag Race - My Allstars

So as all us Drag Race fans know there is a new Allstars season coming. There have been rumours a plenty about who will be in it. Some I have not been excited about and some I am balls to the wall ecstatic about. I have picked my top 14 who I would love to see compete again, yes some were in the first season of Allstars. I can't help but feel like Ru may have created the first season of Allstars to give Chad Michael a win. So as I do I have created a list of my top 14 girls who I all feel deserve another chance at the title. Call this the definitive list if you will. (No particular order)

1. Gia Gunn
Absolutely. One of the fishiest queens to grace the stage and a confession room gangster, not afraid to spill the T.

2. Manila Luzon
Amazing personality with amazing drag abilities. Still one of my favourite lip syncs.

3. MILK
She was eliminated way too soon. We will never know what she had to offer, and you know it would have been stellar as we already saw her bearded, pregnant, as Pinocchio  and the first Queen to ever walk down the runway as a man!

4. Raven
Forever coming second both in her season and the Allstars season. She needs all the recognition she can get for her flawless abilities.

5. Alyssa Edwards
Hands down a legend of the show, elimiated way too soon yet she has stayed in our memories. We need to see those back rolls one more time on the main stage.

6. Jiggly Caliente
A Queen with a difference and an edge. Not afraid to speak her mind, that snaggle tooth beauty needs to shine.

7. Joslyn Fox
The Queen with a heart of gold, what an absolute sweetheart. She may have been labelled a second rate Courtney Act, but she is a first rate Joslyn *waa waa*. Keep it foxy.

8. Latrice Royale
Latrice Mother Fucking Royale the large and in charge Queen. She beams professionalism, talent and uniqueness.

9. Willam
Still the baddest bitch on the block - still the only Queen who was disqualified and vomited on the stage. Love her YouTube shows, she needs redemption.

10. Alaska Thunderfuck
Compared throughout her season to Sharon Needles, she has now surpassed her in my eyes. Her body is the truth and her personality is beautiful.

11. Adore Delano
My Queen. I love her to bits. Her music is top notch. She is the Queen that speaks for all of us, a little rough around the edges but a star quality that shines brighter than the sun.

12. Jujubee
Another Queen who has done Allstars before, but she was robbed - she was my winner. She makes me laugh till it hurts, still the best reader on the show.

13. Detox iCunt
She is over it. Officially. Loved her in her season, was definitely final 3 material. Her lip synching is top notch, her style is faultless and she is a seasoned Queen. Bow down.

14. DiDa Ritz
She needs a second shot to shine, she was still a little bit new to the stage when she competed. A little rough around the edges. However her lip sync to 'This Will Be' will forever go down as the best lip sync of all time!

Other honourable mentions
Onjina
Shangela
Phi Phi O'Hara
Jade Jolie
Ivy Winters
April Carrión
BenDeLaCreme

I Love Me

My last post may have sounded a tad self-negative. It's just that insecurities can control me sometimes. However, on the other hand there are things that I am not so negative about, we all have things about ourselves that we are happy with. I know a lot of people that are unhappy with themselves and they will point out all their flaws in front of me and I just want to shake them and tell them to snap out of it. I see perfection in all my family and friends and it annoys the crap out of me when they can't see it.

There is beauty in everyone, it can physical beauty (the lucky bastards) or it can be inner beauty. I know we are all told that it is inner beauty that counts by our mothers but I think that it is true. I may be biased as I am lacking in the outer beauty department - I think God looked the other way when I was created. However some of the most beautiful people to me are the ones that show it in their actions or personality. Anyone who shines from the inside has this aura about them that I respond to, I think I can read a person pretty well and I have surrounded myself by the most beautiful, kind, thoughtful people on this green earth.

It breaks my heart when my friends point out their flaws because if I thought for one second that they hated something about themselves I have a million counter arguments. Some of my friends and family may suffer from issues like depression or anxiety and they may get down on themselves a lot of the time but I want them to know that they are beautiful to me, the way they deal with things when it can be struggle is a pure example of a beautiful person. I love you if you are reading this. I hope one day you can love yourself.

Yes, we all want to be better looking and want the perfect appearance that has been shoved down our throat by society or our own demons but you don't need to. You are you, accept it because if I know you than I know for sure you don't have to change. Don't change for anyone, not even your own insecurities. You have been moulded by your experiences, your choices, your lack of your choices and they equal a complete person. Do not chase people, work hard and be you. The sad fact is that not everyone is going to love you in this world and this is ok, it is more important to love yourself before anyone else.

Colbie Caillet, Beyonce, Meghan Trainor and John Legend have just all released songs about self love that I think all self doubters should hear. I will post them below. Anyone who is down on themselves please take this in - Love yourself, without your flaws you wouldn't be you. And I love you.
